Soulton Hall's Meetings & Conference Facilities
On the about meetings page, we explain the advantages of Soulton Hall's historic and imposing character, peaceful country location and desecrate service. Here, we provide greater detail about individual meeting and dining rooms, and their context within Soulton Hall and its curtilage.
Meeting Rooms in Soulton Hall
... the Buttery
The buttery is located in the oldest part of Soulton Hall, and dates from about 1420. It has an enormous fifteenth century inglenook fireplace, and exposed stone and brickwork. It is a quiet room down a flight of steps from the principal floor of the house, and totally 'out-of-the-way'.
The buttery has a double aspect and large windows. It faces south and looks out, over a compass-patterned cobbled yard, across the fields to Soulton Wood
... the Withdrawing Room
Located directly above the Buttery, this room enjoys the same views and double aspect. It has exposed beams.
... the Lydia Grace Room
The Lydia Grace Room is an elegant room with vast mullioned windows, original oak floor boards and a spectacular carved wooden fireplace (believed to be the work of Grinling Gibbons).
Facilities in Soulton Court
Soulton Court is a range converted stables buildings, dated 1786. Detached as it is from Soulton Hall, it is a very quite and private location. You would be the only guests using this building. Soulton Court has its own facilities - including a bar, kitchens and lavatories - independent of Soulton Hall.
Having said that, it may be useful for you to know that Soulton Hall is only a matter of yards away, and can (and does) provide a welcome retreat from the business of the day.
...the Long Room
The Long Room is located on the ground floor and faces south. It has five large glazed doors along its south wall, giving the room a cloistered feeling and providing abundant natural light and summer ventilation. The Long Room has a stone flagged floor and an original timbered ceiling. It has a broad terrace with a lavender hedge and a view over the White Garden and across Soulton Hall.
...the Corbett Room
A similar room to the Long Room, slightly smaller but with bigger arched doorways.
