The Herdsman’s Cottage is a semi-detached Victorian cottage set in the unspoilt Shropshire countryside, with fine views towards both Soulton Brook and Hawkstone Hill.
The cottage was completed in 1899 and its original features include quarry tile floors. It has its own large gardens with fruit trees, lawn and flower beds.
Accommodation is in three bedrooms, one double, and two single. (In the next-door Ploughman’s Cottage accommodation is in three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single).
The comfortable sitting room has open fires and two large windows looking towards Hawkstone Hill.
The cottage has a kitchen/dining room fitted with oak units and a table with seating for four. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble-dryer, microwave oven, fridge-freezer etc.
The front door opens on to its own small, very sheltered south facing front garden - a real sun trap.
Central heating, hot water and kitchen appliances are all electric.
While this cottage is delightful on its own, it is possible to take both this cottage and its next-door sister cottage – the Ploughman’s Cottage – together. If both cottages are taken together, they can provide accommodation for up to nine guests, split between the two houses: ideal for two groups or families ‘holidaying’ together.
