Poet Merlin Fulcher is inspired by a recent project.
The following poems were written by Poet Merlin Fulcher, inspired by the barrow project.
Take me to the fields
Lay me Flat
Beneath an oak
Where I can see
The Fields all yellow
Hear the birds
Sing a dream song meadow
And love me
In earth’s garden
Forever
Free
From waves to rocks
To hills to sand
We fell our eyes
On open ground
This patch between
Groves dense and grand
Where a home is built
From another land
For our loves, our youth,
Our dreams
Hand-in-hand
Then as hares
We ran
Are we of the ground
Or from the Sky?
Our home so green
Our minds so high
Touched by the grace of God
Turned by hand with eye
From the solid earth
Grows our life
Divine
