Our Farm and Woodland
We are lucky in that our enterprises are located in and around are cherished farm. This continues to be a vital and vibrant part of life here: the rhythms of the seasons. Within our farming we practice conservation agriculture -- an aproach to crop production which puts the healt of the soil at the heart of how the land is managed, indeed we are currently conducting research with Oxford and Harper Adams Universities consistent with these aspirations.
The farm has a number of intersing features within its landscape: from the monumental archeology of the ancient castle which came before tha current hall, to a much loved oak woodland of 50 acres which is a blaze with bluebells in the sping, to extensive lengths of brook and river. Our guests are warmly encoraged to take an interst in this aspect of Soulton's life, and to explore and enjoy this setting.
