Walking at Soulton

As we explain on the estate page, guests are encouraged to walk, enjoy and explore the 500 acres of land in which Soulton Hall. They can do this from the very front door of Soulton Hall.

There a number of very interesting features on the estate: 50 acres of ancient oak woodland, long stretches river bank, and important medieval and bronze age archaeology.

In addition there is a great deal of wildlife, since the land is sensitively managed under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.

Below is a map of the ground at Soulton, it indicates some tracks and paths but guests are welcome to explore.

Guests are advised that stout walking shoes or Wellington boats are desirable for walking. Guests are also asked to respect the privacy of other guests staying in cottages whilst walking on the farm and to accompany children when they go walking.

They should also take sensible precautions in the interests of safety (for example, extra care should be taken in the vicinity of standing or flowing water, roadways or the farmyard, or near farm or other machinery).
