What a GLORIOUS day of archaeology! Been digging into Shropshire's past in an attempt to find out more about a possible 12th century fortress at @SoultonHall. Today it still stands 2m high and is surrounded by a huge moat. Making some intriguing discoveries already! #SoultonDig pic.twitter.com/X7AEU8NbO5

This is more than an 'interesting stone'!

We think it's a honing stone, for sharpening knives and blades. Lovely little find from our dig at Soulton Hall#soultondig pic.twitter.com/dlAHjNHcBZ

We are still not quite sure what it is and more work requires to be done...
This is the Soulton Lump. It looks very lush on the outside and on the inside may contain the remains of a Matildan fort. 13/10 can’t wait to dig pic.twitter.com/Id65DfJ2Wl
