Soulton Barrow and the Creative Arts

The barrow has developed a number of very rewarding artistic and creative relationships.

Art

Within visual arts we have a very strong relationship with local artist Jo Halden.

Examples of her work around the barrow are below.

Ceramics

The barrow has attracted ceramics who have been using clay from the barrow site itself to make remarkable, personal urns with a clear sense of place and individuality.

Examples of such work from Ann Bates and Potted History are below.

Stone Carving

Niches are often personalised with a stone niche cover like these by Francis Stone Design

First time working with a stained glass artist which I’m pleased to say was very successful. Nettie, the glass artist is hugely talented as I’m sure you’ll agree. Just how lovely is this stained glass rose design! This niche is situated at Willow Row in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire. A wonderful alternative resting place. If you would like to find out more about Willow Row Barrow, contact @sacred_stones_ltd . . . #madebyhand #stonecarving #stonechipping #stainedglass #memorial #bespoke #handcraft #artists #masonry #francisstonedesign #stoneart #stainedglassartist #britishcraftsmanship #alternativeburial #memorials #alternativerestingplace #britishrose #rose #longbarrow #roundbarrow #willowrowbarrow . www.francisstonedesign.co.uk

Stained glass

Niches are also often peronalised with stained glass, and we are enchanted by the work of Annette Jackson and Harriet Love you can see below:
